The Farm

TwoPot Posies grows quietly on a small patch of our countryside garden - not acres of land or sweeping fields, but a humble, hand-tended space where each bed has been shaped by a stay-at-home mum with a passion for flowers, soil, and slow living. It’s a small farm, but it’s full of heart.

Our Flowers & Little Farm

Everything here grows with the seasons. I choose varieties that thrive naturally in our climate and don’t require additional heat or artificial lighting. I don’t use chemicals or pesticides; instead, I rely on organic methods, soil health, and a gentle, nature-first approach.

Most of my flowers are grown outside in the open garden, following the rhythm of the seasons. I also grow a small selection inside a polytunnel, which helps extend the season just a little at both ends — giving me earlier spring blooms and allowing a few flowers to stretch into late autumn. Most of my flowers are in bloom between March and October, with each month bringing its own palette.

I sow hardy annuals in autumn and care for them through winter, letting them slowly establish so they can burst into life early in spring. This gives me a head start on the season - one that feels especially satisfying in a small garden where every bloom counts.

I don’t clean up my beds in winter. The spent stems, seed heads, and tangled bits of foliage are left exactly as they are, creating shelter for insects, food for birds, and a quiet, wild beauty that I’ve grown to love. Nature is never truly dormant, and I try to honour that.

Our soil is fed with homemade compost, seaweed feed, leaf mould, and whatever organic matter I can gather from around our garden. Everything goes back into the soil so it can keep giving generously.

What We Grow

While the garden is small, it’s abundant — full of colours, textures, and pollinator-friendly blooms that change with the months.

Below is a glimpse of what comes into season throughout the year:

Spring:

Soft, romantic blooms including tulips, ranunculus, anemones, sweet rocket and foxgloves.

Early Summer:

Delicate cottage-garden flowers such as cornflowers, snapdragons, ammi and Bells of Ireland.

Mid to Late Summer:

Abundant flowers including cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers, phlox and ornamental grasses.

Autumn:

Dahlias, chrysanthemums, strawflowers, grasses and beautiful seed heads.

Perennials & Foliage:

Throughout the garden you'll find a growing collection of perennials, flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and seasonal foliage. I also carefully forage from our garden and surrounding hedgerows, gathering branches, seed heads, grasses, and greenery that add texture, movement, and a sense of place to my arrangements.
